a weekend of FT (family time)

Before Abbey left on her mission she really wanted to have a weekend full of family time. It started off with a family tennis tournament. Heidi and I were like realllyyy good. So we were terrible, what of it? We had a lot of extended family come too so it was just one big party. Eric ended up being the champion of the tennis tournament they Abbey & the boys were so into it, it was a crack up!

The next day was Sunday, also the day Abbey gave her farewell talk. Her talk was so good, she talked about her series of unfortunate events. Read about it here. I loved how she took such a negative experience and decided to look at it with a positive attitude. I love that Abbey girl. We had a lunch with friends and family and Hans and Lori's house afterword, and then we played cards and relaxed the rest of the day.

Monday we did a session at the temple with all of the siblings and Hans and Lori. It was incredible to be in the temple with the whole family it was simply amazing. After the temple we had lunch at Sakura, and that, was an experience. We did the Hibachi dinner, it was so yummy and we had a really good time.
It's all about the sister pic, love this girl!

After lunch we picked up the little boys, my sisters babysat them while we were at the temple and lunch, and we had a little family home evening. We had all written down things that we will miss and won't miss about Abbey when she is gone and she wrote something she will and won't miss about each of us. The things people came up with were seriously so funny. We love Sister Hafen and miss her lots! It was such a wonderful weekend, we are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.
Action shots of us trying to catch the shrimp at Sakura. Obviously a very talented group we are. It was really bad lighting in Sakura so the pictures are terrible, but you get the point. Thanks for the fun weekend Abbey!

BIG NEWS // May 17, 2013

I had been expecting a letter from Dixie State's Radiography program for weeks waiting to see if I had been accepted into their program. Little did I know I would be getting an email instead. I was sitting in Alex's grandparents family room with my mother-in-law and I randomly decided to check my email and I found this....

It was the greatest email I had ever received. I was freaking out and yes I started bawling. I was so excited that I had been accepted and I was so ready to start this new adventure. It is going to be rough but I know that it will be worth it.

class of 2013

This year my little sisters graduated. Since when are they old enough for that? I was so excited when they asked me to design their graduation announcements for them, and I think they turned out pretty great!

I seriously cannot believe these two are old enough to be graduated & now we are waiting for their mission calls to arrive any day. When did they grow up?

state baseball

Our Friday was spent watching the playoffs for state softball. The girls didn't end up winning so we decided that we would get work off and head up north early in the morning to watch the boys play baseball. We got up at 4:30 AM and were on the road by 5:00. We were SO tired. It was hard to stay awake but we made it safely! We got to the game probably twenty minutes before it was scheduled to start but then the rain came and the game was delayed. We were so bummed. We got up so dang early and drove fairly quick and we ended up sitting there waiting for the rain to clear for an hour and a half. The JV baseball team was pretty great entertainment. They put on catchers gear and used baseball bats to joust. It was hilarious. The boys ended up playing three games that day and they won all three. They took state! That surely made the trip well worth it! My cousins Clint and Riley both pitched, they did an amazing job. I love warrior baseball! Congrats boys!
We also enjoyed ball game hamburgers, the messiest way possible of course!

my boys

I have been able to spend a lot of time with my favorite boys lately, and I have loved every minute of it.  This time Jett slept pretty much the whole time, but who doesn't love playing in the water in their undies with trucks. I think they were learning about penguins at school because they kept saying "waddle, waddle, waddle!" It was sort of a song haha I loved it they always keep me smiling. I don't know how Mikelle keeps up with these crazies all the time, but I sure look up to her, and I love my sweet nephews to the moon and back.
"waddle, waddle, waddle"
Aren't they the cutest things? I love them:)

#fredwedding

Clark and Alyssa decided to tie the knot, and we were so so happy for them. The only downside was that they were going to have their wedding the weekend before finals at Dixie State. Alex was so worried he wouldn't be able to go, Clark was his very favorite mission companion. One way or another Alex got it figured out with school and we were so happy to have a little weekend getaway. We had such a great weekend together!

We drove up Friday afternoon & got there just in time for the wedding dinner. We didn't really know to many people, but we made friends ha! After dinner we got gelato on 9th and 9th and it was sooo good! Then we went to Heidi's house and watched Grey's Anatomy till we fell asleep. It was a good day.

Saturday morning Alex went and picked up Einstein's for breakfast which was a real treat. (I am so excited that we are getting one in St. George!!!) We got ready and headed to the temple. The ceremony was amazing and we were so happy that we decided to come. After the ceremony we had some time to kill so we went to Costco and stopped for the biggest cokes we could find. About an hour later we went to the luncheon and ate some good food! That night we met up with some of Alex's friends for dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, and then stayed up wayyy to late playing Mario Kart, phase 10, and just talking and laughing about the dumbest of things.

Sunday morning we picked up a box of Krispy Kreme's on our way out of town and headed home. It was a perfect weekend!

cute bouquet Clarky:)

Here's to many more years together!

This morning I surprised Alex with a video I made from our whole first year together, but in this post I included our wedding video, and the video I made of our first year! For some reason blogger wouldn't let me upload the video I just made so the link is right underneath our wedding video!
